As per Soccer24.zw FIFA has reportedly issued a warning to the Football Association of Zambia, cautioning them about a possible suspension from international football.
The warning comes after the National Sports Council of Zambia (NSCZ) urged FIFA to establish a transitional committee and review FAZ’s electoral process.
In response, the football governing body stressed that football bodies must manage their affairs without state interference.
"We would like to remind you that each FIFA member association is required by law to conduct its operations independently and free from any interference from outside parties, including governmental Institutions."
"Failure to comply with this obligation may lead to sanctions under FIFA statutes. If a transitional committee is established, FAZ could be in violation of these rules, prompting FIFA to escalate the matter to its decision-making body, which may include suspension," FIFA stated.
